Wharfedale 9.1 Diamond Loudspeakers

![]()
Wharfedale is one of those British Hi-Fi names that still lives on even though the West Yorkshire factory where once these wonderful examples of British craftsmanship were manufactured up until the end of the last century has long gone.
Production of Wharfedale loudspeakers has now moved to China, with the purchase of the brand name by the IAG Group about 6 years ago. One of the first Wharfedale loudspeakers to appear at that time was Wharfedale Diamond 9 loudspeaker which although it only retailed for £180 was clearly in a league of it's own and rapidly became the budget giant killer.
Now Wharfedale have gone back to the drawing board to see if they improve and refine this loudspeaker and the result is the Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 which now only costs £150.
What impresses about the Wharfedale 9.1 Diamond Loudspeakers so much is the thought that has been put into them for such a cheap loudspeaker. The fact that the twin reflex ports are front loaded means the loudspeakers can be placed near walls and still produce clean bass - ideal if you live in a bedsit for example. Six to seven years ago at this price range many loudspeakers failed the bass test - yes they had bass but were unable to pick out bass notes from the mix so that the listener could follow the lines without straining their ears - something we have to say the Wharfedale 9.1s do with ease. Add to this a very open and fast paced sound and you have something that sounds detailed, dynamic and refined and does not break the bank.
If you are short on budget and space, then look no further, the Wharfedale 9.1 Diamond is the answer.

I agree that the 9.1 is best sounding at its price range. Also, it is best when Bi Wired and paired with a Class A Solid State Amplifier.
