Fatman Itube Mothership

Having scored tremendous success over the last 12 months with the Fatman Itube , and the various other varieties such as the carbon, 182 and 252 Itubes, TL audio have moved to the other end of the scale and given us the Fatman Itube Mothership which weighs in at a whopping £5,000 and consists of a valve pre-amp and two mono block valve power amplifiers.

Now I am not hard core valve enthusiast but you only have look/drool at these black and orange glow masterpieces to realise that the Fatman Itube Mothership combination is something special to behold. On a side note they should also reduce those central heating bills once warmed up as well. The design of the Fatman Itube Mothership is simply stunning as is the specification, two 200 watt mono block valve power amplifiers each utilizing six chinese sourced KT88 valves, four 6N8P valves, and two ECC88 vavles.

The build quality is stunning and each block measures 380 x 390 x185 (LxWxH) and weighs and hefty 51kgs. The Fatman Itube Mothership valve pre-amp features three line inputs and one moving magnet phono input and makes use of four 12AX7, one 12AT7, one 6P6P and a 5Z3P and boasts a signal to noise ratio of greater than 93db for the line inputs and -75 db for the phono input.
