Marantz has launched a new integrated amplifier, the PM-15S1, which uses the the very latest components and electrical engineering and a finish to die.

The new Marantz PM-15S1 features a unique ultra rigid chassis that has no visible screws which gives the appearance of a very minimalist design that uses a smooth platinum finish with a soft blue backlight. Even the remote control for the new Marantz PM-15S1 Integrated Amplfier shares the same platinum finish.

However if you thought the design of this amplifier was just skin deep then you would be mistaken, the Marantz PM-15S1 Integrated Amplfier features an enormous over engineered torridial transformer that allows the amplifier to pump out up to 140W per channel into 4 ohms. The circuit board has been designed symetrically and signal paths kept to a minimum to improve stereo imaging and overall sonic quality. Unlike many other amplifiers separate heat sinks are also utilized for the left and right transformer circuits rather than using a combined heat sink. Shielding is also used throughout the design as well to eliminate cross talk, and feedback is kept to a minimum. A top quality MM/MC phono pre-amp is also included, so often left out of modern designs.

The Marantz PM-15S1 Integrated Amplifier should hit shops before Christmas and you should expect to pay around £1200
