One For All SV 1100 Blaster Remote Control Extender

One For All SV 1100 Blaster Remote Control Extender

One For All

Quite a new product on the market and I one I was keen to review. Retailing at about £30 in the UK (£24.99 in Argos is about the cheapest you can find), the One For All SV 1100 Blaster Remote Control Extender consists of three infa red readers on a 3 metre cable that connect to a small black receiver/battery charger that is powered by a 12V mains transformer. The receiver is combined with a 1.2v battery transmitter about 2/3 the size of an AA battery and there are two sleeves/converters that allow you to replace an AA or AAA battery in the remote control of the device you wish to use. Given how inconspicious the receiver is, it is a clever and practical idea and should work within a range of about 30m of the base unit and in other rooms as well.

The transmitter of the One For All SV 1100 Blaster Remote Control Extender has three sensistivity settings so that you can eliminate interference, which is unfortunately where I ran into problems. Although I could get the remote control extender to work, I was constantly getting interference no matter which setting I selected as indicated on the display of the transmitter. Even after disconnecting every other wireless device in the house, the signal was no better which was a great shame because I so wanted this ingenious remote extender blaster to work flawlessly.

Even though the One For All SV 1100 Blaster Remote Control Extender suffered from interference I would still recommend it for people to try but I would suggest purchasing from an outlet like Argos who offer a 14 day money back guarantee.
