Quad 21L2 Floorstanding Loudspeakers
Launched this autumn, the Quad 21L2 Floorstanding Loudspeakers are the entry level floorstanding loudspeaker from Quad. The Quad 21L2 Floorstanding Loudspeakers are the baby brothers of the £899 Quad 22L2 Floorstanding Loudspeakers and at £699 a pair represent excellent value for money given their build quality, finish and overall sound quality.
Quad's previous range of L loudspeakers were a tremendous success and firmly put Quad on the map as not only just an electrostatic king in the loudspeaker world but also a manufacturer that knows how to build a magnetic cone speaker as well. As we have mentioned the Quad 21L2 Floorstanding Loudspeakers are the smaller of the two floorstanders from Quad , and only use one 170mm Kevlar bass unit as opposed to the Quad 22L2 which has an additional woofer that works below 150hz to produce extended bass. Given this, the Quad 21L2 Floorstanding Loudspeakers will still go down as low 35hz which is still very impressive.
The Quad 21L2 Floorstanding Loudspeakers have a generous cabinet size measuring 780mm x 205mm x 263mm and can hardly be described as being lightweight with each speaker weighing around 34kg. As with the other Quad loudspeakers in the L Range, the Quad 21L2 Floorstanding Loudspeakers have reinforced cabinets, improved drive units, all new speaker terminals and a superior lush lacquered finish that sets the Quads apart from the competition.
The previous Quad floorstanders received extremely favourable reviews and the trend is set to continue with the launch of the Quad 21L2 Floorstanding Loudspeakers as well. Have lived with a pair of Quad L speakers for the last three years, I can recommend them to anyone in the market for a new pair. They sound stunning, look fantastic and complement any living room.
The Quad 21L2 Floorstanding Loudspeakers are available now in cherry, rosewood, birds eye maple, black and silver and warrant a serious audition. More information can found by downloading the brochure
