Sennheiser MX W1 Wireless Headphones win EISA award

Since their launch earlier this year, the Sennheiser MX W1 wireless headphones have caused quite a stir in the hi-fi world and last week in Berlin, Sennheisier were awarded Best Product 2008-2009 by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) for this product.
The Sennheiser MX W1 headphones are one of the very few wireless audio products to use the new Kleer technology which operates on the 2.4 ghz frequency range like every other wireless product but is less prone to interference and offers far superior sound quality.
EISA hold their awards annually, and recognise outstanding products relating to photography, hi-fi, audio visual, and multimedia. This year, the judges were extremely impressed with the Sennheiser MX W1 headphones and in particular singalled out the fact that they were one of the first products to offer true hi-fi sound wirelessly whilst allowing complete freedom of movement.
The new Kleer technology found in the Sennheiser MX W1 headphones not only offers a totally lossless audio signal but also at significantly less power than other similar technologies meaning the lithium Ion batteries in each ear-piece and the audio transmitter last far longer between recharges.
However all this state of the art technology does not come cheap and at £300 a pair, only the very wealthy or those people with an extreme phobia of wires will even consider stumping up the asking price, but to be fair to Sennheiser, the new MX W1 heaphones are not your every day wireless headphones and if the technology catches on then prices will ultimately fall.
