Sky HDTV Website Updated

Sky HD>
Sky have updated their website to give users more information regarding the forthcoming launch of the service in the spring of 2006.
The flash driven site now has more information regarding what you will need to receive HDTV in your living room, what connections the first generation boxes will have and what you can expect to view.
There are also HD video clips to download, although these have been encoded using Windows Media 10, so although 1080i in resolution, they do not represent the actual quality of true H.263 encoded MPEG4 satellite broadcasts, they give you a pretty good idea of what's in store for the first subscribers.
The first thing that strikes you is the depth and vibrance of colour in the downloads especially the two National Geogaraphical previews.
Prices have still yet to be confirmed although I can see a few people signing up just on the back of the preivews alone. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that Sky can get the BBC on board before the start of the world cup - Now that would be a major coup.
